Two weeks ago, the Harvard women’s water polo team knocked off Brown, 6-3, to sweep the Ivy Invitational at Blodgett Pool.

The Bears (4-3) exacted their revenge yesterday, edging the Crimson 6-4 in the same pool.

The contest was evenly matched early on, as Harvard (5-2) and Brown remained knotted at two early in the second period.

The Crimson seemed to get a break after a Bears turnover allowed Harvard to launch out on a break.

But an errant pass by the Crimson allowed Brown to take possession back and drive down the pool for an easy score to take a 3-2 lead.

The Bears held that lead into the intermission.

The Crimson and Brown would trade goals for the duration of the contest, as Brown managed to hold on for the 6-4 victory.

The loss was Harvard’s first in four games, as the Crimson last fell 8-4 at the Princeton Invitational to the host Tigers.

Harvard travels to New York next weekend to take on Queens, Utica, and Hartwick. After that, the Crimson will take a three-week break in preparation for the ECAC Championships.
