The No. 11 Harvard men’s hockey team kicked off its awards season in style on Wednesday, claiming four All-Ivy selections, tied for most in the league with No. 15 Dartmouth and one more than No. 2 Cornell.
Captain Noah Welch and assistant captain Tom Cavanagh were both unanimous first-team selections, while assistant captain Ryan Lannon and senior goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris each earned second-team nods.
None of the selections was particularly surprising, despite Grumet-Morris’ stellar numbers throughout the year. Topping him for first-team honors was Big Red sophomore and Ivy Player of the Year David McKee, who leads the country with a 1.27 goals-against average, and trails only Grumet-Morris with a 0.943 save percentage.
