POLICE LOG

March 11:

6:10 a.m.—A Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officer was dispatched to Quincy House to investigate a report about packaging peanuts having been spread all over the lobby and elevator.

10:58 p.m.—An officer received a letter in the mail written out in newspaper clippings but no threats were made.

March 12:

9:59 a.m.—An HUPD officer was flagged down and told of an assault in progress at the bagel shop on 1876 Mass. Ave. Cambridge Police Department (CPD) was notified and took over the scene.

6:49 p.m.—HUPD officers and Boston Fire Department (BFD) reported to Vanderbilt Hall Lot after being notified that a motor vehicle was on fire. BFD extinguished the fire, preventing damage to any surrounding property.

March 13:

5:30 p.m.—A person walked into HUPD to report a number of past, “simple” assaults that had occurred at Quincy House. A report was filed and the investigation is ongoing.

March 14:

1:24 p.m.—HUPD officers responded to Pound Hall because of a report about a “disturbed” person yelling and stomping their feet in the area. After searching for outstanding wants and warrants, which proved negative, the officers wrote up a no-trespass warning for the person.

March 15:

4:04 p.m.—An officer was sent to Cruft Laboratory on 19 Oxford St. to investigate the theft of an unattended and unsecured silver Apple Macintosh laptop with carry bag for a total value of $3,000.

March 17:

4:06 p.m.—An HUPD officer responded to 1316 Mass. Ave. because of a report about people in a store waving, what appeared to be, guns around. CPD was notified and upon their arrival, it was determined the alleged weapons were, in fact, lighters shaped as guns.
