Death pool time!
Okay, we knew one of the survivors was gonna die on this episode. I’d put money on Charlie, because I figure with Sean Astin coming to “24” in January, it’s dangerous to have two hobbits in primetime.
The episode ended up being Shannon-centric. I like Shannon. She’s so pretty. Unlike Evangeline Lilly or Michelle Rodriguez, I don’t feel like she could beat the bloody pulp out of me.
Shannon is on a mission to find Walt, because he keeps on appearing to her and speaking in some foreign language (it’s actually backwards English). During flashbacks, Ian Somerhalder reprises his role as Boone, who is so beautiful he looks like he stepped out of a Hugo Boss ad.
In case you missed it during Jack’s flashback, Shannon’s dad came into his hospital after a car crash. He ends up dying, and this is sad not just for Shannon, but because Matthew Fox was donning a horrible mop-top wig.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the island, Sawyer is reeling in pain. The mysterious “Others” start that creepy whispering and in one instant another person is taken.
Cut back to pouring rain (damn those tropical islands!) and Sayid is chasing Shannon through the forest. She’s sobbing and yelling at Sayid for not believing her about Walt. After all the crap she has been through I can’t blame her, but she should really hold onto Sayid because he is damn fine.
Walt reappears and now Sayid sees him too. I can’t decipher what he’s saying but I’m sure the nerds on the web have already translated it into multiple languages and counted the syllables looking for number patterns.
With the shot of Ana Lucia’s gun Shannon officially bites the dust, er sand.
Dammit, that’s $25 down the drain.
