    My dearest Isis,

I’m so sorry for waiting so long to send out this email addressing the whole notion of trips during punch season hosted and funded by Isis, but we’ve only just fully confirmed the plan and settled logistics.

We’ve planned 2 very exciting trips this Punch season. The first will be to NYC, and with the advice of many Isis members, we have changed the agenda to include a fabulous dinner followed by a night out with a table and bottled service at a fabulous club. Our Graduate Board President, Sarah Geisler, has been incredible and so excited about mobilizing our New York alumnae base and letting some of us and the younger girls meet our older, fabulous founders of the Isis Club.

Every Isis member is invited to join us on for the NYC trip, but we just ask that you donate 60 dollars if you do want to come. Housing will be arranged by the punchmasters and Sarah will taken care of the Isis alumnae; the 60 dollars will cover dinner and the club - and hey, if you can pay $60 for a great dinner and a night of spectacularness as a VIP at a great club, it’s worth it!

We are very excited about our second trip of the 2005 punch season to Pia’s house in Miami. Steph and Aimee have already booked their tickets; if you’d like to join on this trip to Miami, we’ve sought out some good deals in terms of airfare and cost so just let us know. Some members have voiced their concerns about these trips, and I would like to take this opportunity to respond to them to the best of my ability.

CONCERN 1: The trips may be getting too elaborate. We have the financial stability, at this point, to finance a trip to Miami and I think it’s incredibly exciting to offer this opportunity to girls (both punches and Isis members) when traditionally Isis has never focused on fundraisin. But I focused very hard core on fundraising this last summer and have been able to put away an amount into a savings account, help finance the website, and also provide for some special events like these.

CONCERN 2: They give special treatment to some punches over others. We’ve planned 2 other specific outings/brunches for the two nights punches and Isis members will be away in Miami to ensure that no one feels specifically left out and that all punches in Cambridge will have some Isis loving.

And finally, CONCERN 3: The trips don’t reflect the core values of the club. In terms of the core values of the club, we ARE BY NO MEANS trying to adopt a more elaborate and obnoxiously showy image. I am sure that you all felt the same way at the first event: we have this great comfortable, friendly vibe that always, and will always, come through. I truly believe that this is an exciting way for punches to hang out with Isis girls in a new, warm, friendly environment-- having fun and enjoying Isis company, no matter what city we’re in.

After Tuesday’s cuts, we’ll find a way to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard about the miami trip.

I always want everyone to feel comfortable, and I appreciate that some people have concerns. Please feel free to talk to me and tell me how you’re feeling.

    I love you girls,
    sweet dreams.
    Alissa
