Jan. 7:

7:38 a.m.—A Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officer was dispatched to a building on 25 Shattuck St. on a report of stolen Mass. Lottery tickets stashed underneath a keyboard in an office. The tickets were valued at a total of $20.00.

5:19 p.m.—An officer was dispatched to Sever Hall to report on a stolen black IBM T41 ThinkPad left unattended in the library. The laptop was valued at $3,000.00.

Jan. 8:

9:25 p.m.—HUPD officers were sent to the Stadium Complex on reports from witnesses that a motor vehicle fled the scene after causing property damage. Officers located the driver—who, upon investigation, was determined to be “impaired”—and was taken away by an ambulance for treatment.

Jan. 9:

3:35 a.m.—An HUPD officer was dispatched to Winthrop House D on a report of an “unknown type” of smoke drifting into a room. Officer determined someone was possibly smoking.

5:57 p.m.—Officers investigated in Currier House a stolen black IBM ThinkPad laptop worth $2,200.00. A Northface backpack valued at $60.00, containing a U.S. passport valued at $100.00, was also taken from an unlocked room.

Jan. 10:

4:57 p.m.—Officer was sent to Gutman Library on a report of a stolen laptop computer. It was later determined that the victim’s friend had taken the laptop for safe-keeping. The officer did not write a report.

7:07 p.m.—A person walked into HUPD to report the theft of money from an apartment rental agreement gone sour.

Jan. 11:

2:03 a.m.—HUPD Officers were dispatched to Quincy House on reports of loud music. Officers determined the music was coming from a party in Entryway B, room 32 and shut down the party immediately.

2:47 a.m.—HUPD Officers were dispatched again to Quincy House on reports of loud music. Officers determined the source of the music was still coming from a party in Entryway B, room 32 and shut it down—again.
