July 18:
2:07:38 a.m.—Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officers were sent to Harvard Yard on a report of a group of individuals reportedly pulling up stakes. A search of the area turned up negative.
July 19:
2:15:51 a.m.—An officer reported observing an open car door and the radio missing from the vehicle. The officer secured the vehicle door.
8:52:39 a.m.—Officers were sent to the Holyoke Center to take a report of a stolen computer, palm pilot, camera, cash, keys and a credit card from multiple offices. These thefts occurred between July 16 and July 19 and the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 7 a.m.
10:49:29 a.m.—An HUPD officer was dispatched to a report of tents set up in the area of Shaw Hall on Everett Street. The officer arrived and determined the tents belonged to students. The students were to be sent an e-mail telling them to remove the tents.
July 20:
12:39:33 p.m.—An officer was sent to Dunster House to take a report of an
individual who was continually being harassed. The officer reported the harassment was occurring in Harvard Square and the reporting person was to contact the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) to file a report.
1:41:23 p.m.—An HUPD officer was dispatched to Blodgett Pool to take a report of an individual who was almost struck by a truck at 1:25 p.m.
6:39:38 p.m.—An officer was sent to Weld Hall to take a report of an indecent assault that occurred between July 10 and July 19. A suspect was idenitified; no criminal complaint to be filed. Administrative action was initiated.
10:35:00 p.m.—Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of an attempted theft of bicycles. CPD was notified. HUPD stopped three suspects on Kirkland Street. CPD arrived and took three individuals into custody.
July 22:
8:56:10 a.m.—An officer reported that a suspicious plant believed to be
marijuana was discovered in the quad of the Warren Alpert Building in Longwood. An officer removed the plant and brought it into the station for further investigation. It was determined that the plant was not marijuana.
9:44:46 a.m.—An officer was sent to Larsen Hall on Appian Way on a report of an individual offering people rides. HUPD and CPD officers arrived, and the individual became belligerent. Police arrested Derek Moarts of Acton, Mass., for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
3:09:26 p.m.—An HUPD officer was sent to investigate a report of an individual who was repeatedly calling and threatening people in an office at the Holyoke Center. The officer took a report, and on July 23, a warrant was issued for Calvin B. Innerarity, 50, of Cambridge. That same day, police arrested Innerarity at 20 Middlesex St., the suspect’s home address.
July 23:
9:55:01 p.m.—Officers investigated a report of two individuals who entered the cemetery at 0 Garden St. and were possibly using drugs. Officers identified the two individuals and sent them on their way.
July 24:
6:25:38 a.m.—HUPD officers conducted a field interview with an individual who was acting suspiciously around the bicycle rack at Lamont Library. The individual told officers that they were looking for old bicycle parts. A warrant check turned up negative. Police told the individual that if they take any bicycle parts on Harvard property, they would be subject to arrest.
8:16:26 p.m.—Officers were dispatched to the Kennedy School of Government to monitor a demonstration. Three individuals were escorted for from the demonstration for continually disrupting and shouting, attempting to excite the crowd. One individual was standing on a bollard and shouting while the group gathered around. Officers removed the individual for the safety of the individual and the crowd.
