Though 2003 Harvard football captain Dante Balestracci was not picked in last weekend’s NFL Draft, his chances of joining the pros are by no means shot.
Balestracci, along with five other undrafted players, was invited to join the New England Patriots’ rookie mini camp this coming weekend, according to New England’s website.
The 6’2, 240-lb. linebacker had hoped to either be signed in a late round or as a priority free agent. The Patriots’ invitation is a positive indicator that Balestracci could achieve the latter goal sometime in the coming weeks.
The camp runs Friday to Sunday at Gillette Stadium and includes the Patriots eight draft picks along with the undrafted players.
