The Harvard men and women’s fencing teams had a very strong showing over the weekend at the NCAA Northeast Regional Tournament held at Columbia University yesterday.
The tournament is held every year to determine which players will represent the Northeast in the NCAA National Championships.
For the first time in its history, the Crimson managed to qualify a fencer in each event.
For the men, freshman Enoch Woodhouse and sophomores Julian Rose and David Jakus all qualified. Freshman Daniel Sachs also received an at-large bid.
The Harvard women will also send four competitors.
Freshman Jasmine McGlade, sophomores Anne Austin and Chloe Stinetorf and senior Eunice Yi will all attend.
“Seeing as how only eight people get to go from our region per event, we were particularly pleased, especially considering we are in one of the hardest regions,” said Woodhouse, who provided the information used in this report.
