POLICE LOG

Sept. 24:

4:57 p.m.—Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officers were sent to Matthews Hall on a report of a suspicious person in the building knocking on doors and asking for change. A search of the area turned up negative.

5:34 p.m.—An officer was sent to Currier House to investigate a report of a suspicious person knocking on doors and asking for money. The suspect was gone on arrival.

Sept. 25:

8:28 a.m.—An officer noticed a person sleeping in front of Lamont Library. A warrant check turned up negative, and the officer sent the person away with a trespass warning for all Harvard property.

9:29 a.m.—Officers were sent to Massachusetts Hall on a report of a person asking questions about the president of Harvard and looking for keys to Massachusetts Hall. Officers checked the person for wants and warrants and sent the person away with a trespass warning for all Harvard property.

Sept. 26:

3:45 a.m.—HUPD officers were dispatched to 52 Mt. Auburn St. on a report of vandalism in progress. The caller reported that an individual damaged the rear doors of the van in which the caller was sitting. Officers located and arrested Eric P. Odes, 20, of Cambridge, for destruction of $250 worth of property and disorderly conduct.

8:05 p.m.—Officers were sent to Hurlbut Hall to take a report of a stolen silver Apple Powerbook and accessories including a silver Fuji Film digital camera with a total value of $2,999.

Sept. 27:

11:13 a.m.—An HUPD officer was dispatched to take a report of a stolen yellow 18-speed Specialized HR Sport Mountain bicycle from a rack by Grays Hall.

6:09 p.m.—An officer was sent to the Biological Labs on Divinity Avenue to investigate a report of a person throwing water balloons out of the windows and nearly hitting people. The officer located the room and checked the area but the suspect was gone on arrival.

Sept. 28:

12:26 p.m.—HUPD officers were dispatched on a report of a suspicious person in Gund Hall at 48 Quincy St. Officers located the person, who had a previous trespass warning issued for all University property. Officers arrested Charles Gray, 51, of Cambridge, for trespassing.

9:46 p.m.—Officers were sent to remove a person refusing to leave Boylston Hall. Officers located the person and determined the individual had a previous no-trespass warning for all Harvard property. Officers arrested Scott Thembi, 26, for trespassing.

Sept. 29:

2:18 a.m.—Officers were sent to Quincy House to investigate a report of loud noise. Officers located a party in room A-33 and shut down the party for the night.

12:10 p.m.—An officer noticed a group of 20 people trying to demonstrate in Harvard Yard. The officer checked for proper permits, which had not been issued, and sent the individuals on their way.

Sept. 30:

11:19 a.m.—An officer was sent to 24 Shaler Ln. in Cambridge to take a report of a stolen silver Giant Rainier Mountain bicycle and lock valued at $980. The bicycle was take from a bike rack.
