The Harvard men’s soccer team’s junior midfielder Nicholas Tornaritis may have one less goal than his twin brother Anthony, but after his two-goal effort this week, he now has a new award to show up his sibling at Thanksgiving dinner.
Nicholas Tornaritis was named this week’s Ivy League Player of the week, after scoring the first goal in the Crimson’s 3-1 win over Holy Cross last Wednesday and the lone goal in Harvard’s 1-0 victory against Brown on Sunday.
And while both wins came against NSCAA regionally ranked opponents, it was the score against the Bears that was particularly vital, as it came in the closing seconds of a game whose outcome could very well decide who wins this year’s Ivy championship.
Harvard (7-5-0, 2-1-0) faces Princeton on Saturday at 4 p.m. in a pivotal conference matchup. The Tigers are currently tied for first in league standings with No. 15 Penn.
