Four members of the Harvard women’s squash team, which successfully defended its Ivy League championship in 2001 with a 6-0 league record, were named to the All-Ivy first team yesterday.

Sophomore Louisa Hall, who competed at No. 1 for the Crimson, took Ivy Player of the Year honors. It was the first time in five years that Princeton had not won the award.

Lindsey Wilkins, in addition to her All-Ivy first-team selection, was named Ivy Rookie of the Year, marking the second consecutive time Harvard has earned the honor. Hall was named the Ivy League’s top newcomer last year, while senior Margaret Elias shared the award with Cornell’s Olga Puigdemont Sola in 1999.

That year also marked the first of Elias’ four on the All-Ivy first team, a string that culminated this season. The co-captain is only the eighth Crimson player ever to accomplish the feat.

“It’s definitely a privilege to be on that team and to be recognized with those girls,” Elias said. “It’s a very sentimental thing.”

Rounding out the Harvard honorees was senior Carlin Wing. It was Wing’s third All-Ivy selection.

Hall, Wilkins, Elias and Wing were also all named First-Team WISA All-Americans, while co-captain Colby Hall was named to the second team.
