POLICE LOG

Feb. 17:

3:51 a.m.—A Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officer investigated a party at the Lampoon, a semi-secret Sorrento Square social organization which used to occasionally publish a so-called humor magazine. Lampoon members promised to turn off their lame music and try to be more tasteful in the future.

6:30 p.m.—An individual informed a HUPD officer that an unknown man masturbated in front of him at 4:30 p.m. in the men’s bathroom of the Science Center basement. The officer searched the area but was unable to locate the suspect.

Feb. 18:

9:02 a.m.—An officer removed three non-Harvard students from the common room of Greenough Hall, where they had been sleeping. The students, who were attending a debate tournament, found other accomodations.

4:55 p.m.—A Peabody Terrace resident called police after a nude individual entered the caller’s apartment and made “irrational” statements. The caller declined to press burglary charges and officers transported the suspect to University Health Services for a pyschiatric evaluation.

Feb. 19:

2:48 a.m.—A HUPD officer removed a noisy individual from a Perkins Hall dumpster.

12:11 p.m.—An officer investigated a stolen sculpture from the Mather House art gallery. The sculpture was returned a few days later.

6:12 p.m.—Officers unsuccessfully searched for a man who attempted to grab a woman in the ladies’ room of Longfellow Hall. The suspect is described as 30-year-old Hispanic male, of medium build, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Feb. 20:

3:17 a.m.—Officers removed two individuals from the Science Center who had been attempting to spend the night in the building.

12:51 p.m.—An officer took a report of stolen cash and jewelry at the Peabody Museum.

9:25 p.m.—An officer stopped an individual in Harkness Commons who he knew had an outstanding trespass warning. HUPD arrested William Littman, 51, of 511 Main St., Malden, Mass. for trespassing.

Feb. 21:

10:22 a.m.—HUPD received a complaint regarding an person behaving aggressively at Au Bon Pain. The suspect, believed to hang around the Coop, Pit and Kiosk areas, is described as “a white tall male of medium build who is not well-kept, scruffy, has thinning gray hair and smiles a lot.”

1:46 p.m.—A Quincy House resident reported that her laptop computer was stolen from her bedroom on the third floor of New Quincy.

3:48 p.m.—HUPD officers monitored a demontration by the Progressive Student Labor Movement in Mass. Hall.

11:33p.m.—A second Quincy House resident reported that her laptop was also stolen from her bedroom.

Feb. 22:

3:38 p.m.—An officer filed a report for a credit card stolen from the Biology Laboratories.

4:11 p.m.—Officers conducted a field interview at University Hall with an individual acting supiciosly. After the individual agreed to be evaluated by a mental health professional, officers transported the individual to Cambridge City Hospital.

6:24 pm.—An officer took a report at Thayer Hall for the past larceny of cash.

9:54 p.m.—HUPD officers dispatched after a report of the odor of marijuana emanating from a dorm room in the Yard. HUPD conducted an on-scene and filed a report.

Feb. 23:

10:54 p.m.—An officer took a report of keys and a coat stolen from Quincy House.

4:26 p.m.—Officers responded to Quincy House after a caller reported students chasing each other with fake guns. The responding officer advised them to cease and desist.
