12:59 P.M. Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officers were dispatched to Greenough Hall to investigate a report of individuals smoking marijuana. The officers stopped and identified one individual, and local high school authorities were notified.
1:45 P.M. A Cambridge resident contacted Cambridge Police Department (CPD) to report being held up at gunpoint. On the way to work, the resident was stopped by a black male who waved a gun and said that he wanted “his stuff.” The suspect then fled.
5:32 P.M. HUPD officers were sent to remove skateboarders from Countway Library
6:25 P.M. HUPD officers were dispatched to remove skateboarders from Gund Hall.
9:00 P.M. A Cambridge resident contacted CPD to report an attempted armed robbery. The resident was approached from behind by a black female with a knife. The assailant demanded money, the resident screamed, and the suspect fled.
September 25
12:54 P.M. A HUPD officer was dispatched to take a report of a suspicious package of flowers at 74 Mt. Auburn Street.
6:02 P.M. CPD officers responded to an anonymous call, which advised that there was a bomb in the Cambridgeside Galeria Mall. The building was searched; no bomb was found.
10:00 P.M. An Arlington resident reported to CPD that, while walking on Mt. Auburn and Holyoke Streets in Harvard Square, he was struck in the head with a bottle. His assailants then held a knife to his throat.
Septeber 26
3:30 A.M. A Memorial Drive resident reported to CPD that, while walking on Mass. Ave., a white Jeep Grand Cherokee stopped in front of him. A white male, 18-20 years of age, 5’9,’’ 160 pounds with black hair, got out of the car. He held out a knife and demanded money. The suspect turned to look behind him, and the resident ran. The suspect fled toward Mass. Ave. and Vassar Street emptyhanded.
3:40 A.M. A Boston resident reported to CPD that, while at Mass. Ave. and Vassar Street, he was approached by a white Jeep Cherokee. A white male, 18-20 years of age, 5’9,’’ 160 pounds with black hair, got out, showed a knife and demanded money. The resident told the suspect to get away from him and said he was calling the police. The suspect then fled wthout taking anything.
3:23 P.M. CPD officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Cambridgeside-Galeria Mall. A jewelry store employee said that two black males asked to see various pieces jewelry. After several minutes, one suspect pulled a knife and stated “give me the jewelry.” The suspects fled with $1,045.90 in gold chains.
3:32 P.M. A HUPD officer dispatched to take a report of stereo stolen from Pennypacker Hall.
10:11 P.M. A HUPD officer dispatched to the Faculty Club to investigate reports of an individual acting erratically. The suspect was gone when the officer arrived.
September 28
7:00 P.M. A Linnaean Street resident reported to CPD that her handbag was stolen from the Phoenix S.K. Club on the previous evening.
3:45 P.M. CPD officers responded to a hate crime report issued by a Somerville resident. The resident said that while exiting the Harvard Square T Station, she was approached by 4 white males, who said “What are you doing here? Go back to your own country.” One of the suspects then grabbed her religious scarf and tried to rip it off her head.
