After handing Army a decisive 28-13 defeat last Friday, the Harvard wrestlers eventually ran out of stream and lost to Lehigh, 21-12, on Saturday afternoon.
Even though Lehigh lost its first three bouts against the Crimson and found itself in a 0-9 hole, Lehigh won the next five matches to win the meet.
Harvard wrestlers outdueled Lehigh four times on Saturday before eventually losing their momumtum by the end. At heavyweight, junior Dawid Rechul defeated Shawn Laughlin, 3-2, and in the 125-pound division, junior Kevin El-Hayak outwrestled Mario Stuart, 4-2. Senior Matt Picarsic won his match in the 133-pound division, and at 184, Fran Volpe garnered the only other Crimson win.
The Crimson had been much more aggressive and successful in its 28-12 victory over Army the previous day. Harvard picked up six bouts on the day, with Rechul, Picarsic and Volpe again winning their respective matches.
In addition, sophomore Pat O'Donnell, who has performed extremely well for the Crimson this season, defeated Army's Augie Dominguez, 9-2, in the 165-pound division. At 149, freshman Jesse Jantzen handed Eric Miller an 18-2 loss, and David Germakian outwrestled Ben Garner at 125.
