July 9

8:20 a.m.--Cambridge Police Department (CPD) responded to a report from passersby of a fire in a couch. Cambridge Fire Department was dispatched to put out the fire.

12:59 p.m.--Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) recorded an anonymous call stating that a party had been selling drugs on a daily basis at the Science Center. An officer was dispatched to speak with the party and take a report.

1:01 p.m.--HUPD recorded a call from a resident reporting loud noise coming from the athletic fields. Officer reports loud noise was coming from a Gospel church gathering located in the Public Theater on Soldiers Field Road.

6:20 p.m.--Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting suspicious activity taking place in the Science Center basement men's restroom. Officer responded and found the parties had already departed the area.

8:26 p.m.--A resident called to report that a yellow taxi struck a motor vehicle in a visitors lot and then fled the area. Units responded and reported no damaged vehicles.

8:59 p.m.--HUPD responded to a call from a security guard in Teele Hall reporting a refrigerator was taken from the third floor.

--A Cambridge resident called CPD to report that an unknown Filipino man entered her apartment and wrapped a cord around her neck, causing her to pass out. She refused medical help.

July 10

3:58 a.m.--HUPD was called to Canaday Hall when a caller stated she heard noises coming from the bathroom. Officers determined another resident was making the noises.

11:22 a.m.--HUPD officers were dispatched to Boylston Hall on a report of an unwanted person sleeping in the lobby. The individual was sent on their way.

--Hercilio Alves of Milford was arrested by CPD at 119 Willow St. for driving with a suspended license and passing a school bus.

--A Cambridge resident called CPD to report that her neighbor rang her doorbell and started screaming at her. The neighbor threatened to punch her in the face, claiming that the resident touched her baby carriage.

--A Sherman Street resident called CPD to report that when she arrived home from work she found her son's bike missing. In its place, an older bike was left behind.

July 11

1:49 a.m.--A HUPD officer was dispatched to the Harvard Herbarium to investigate a van full of live rats. When the officer arrived on the scene, the suspicious van was gone.

7:20 p.m.--A Medford resident called CPD to report that while at the intersection of Mass Ave. and Sheperd St., she had words with the operator of another motor vehicle. She told the driver "slow down, you are out of control." He replied "I am taking down your number. Expect a vistor...You have no idea who my father is."

--A Cambridge resident reported that an unknown suspect, who was fluent in Spanish, told the reporting person that he knows where she lives. The suspect then proceeded to recite her address. The reporting person stated that the suspect was attempting to steer the conversation towards sex. The reporting person asked the suspect not to call.

--A Brocker Street resident called CPD to report that a Springfield resident became angry and argumentative when he had to wait in line at Burger King. The suspect was told to go to the back of the line. The suspect became furious and said that he would be back to shoot the reporting person.

July 12

4:15 p.m.--A Quincy resident reported to CPD that while at Sennott Park, he was involved in an argument with a homeless man who slapped him in the face and proceeded to slash at him with a knife.

4:36 p.m.--A city worker found a wallet belonging to an officer of the university. An officer was dispatched to retrieve the property.

--A Somerville resident called CPD to report that while on Cambridge Street riding her bike, she was beside a motor vehicle with Massachusetts license plates. The sideview mirror struck her arm and "grabbed" both she and the bike, dragging them down the street. The passenger of the car was aware of the contact.

July 13

9:35 a.m.--A Mass. Ave. resident called CPD to report that for the past month an unknown male caller has phoned repeatedly and made grunting noises and laughed into the phone before hanging up.

12:50 p.m.--A Hispanic man, who identified himself as Ricardo Rodriguez, was arrested by CPD at his residence. He was charged with assault by means of a knife. The arrest was the result of a report filed by the victim yesterday alleging that the suspect attempted to stab him during a confrontation.
