Sunday, May 7

--A woman reported being hit on the head with a broom by a man after her son had sprayed the man's daughter with a water hose.

--A Winthrop House resident reported that a male urinated on her door. The suspect was located by Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officers and returned to clean up the mess.

--HUPD officers responded to a report of people hanging out a Quincy House window, yelling and playing loud music. They asked the students to turn down the music. A similar call to Quincy was also made on May 10.

--A student in Pennypacker Hall reported that her room was ransacked and money stolen while she was asleep. The window screen was open when she awoke.

--HUPD officers responded to a noise complaint in the Carpenter Center at 11 p.m. An individual agreed to stop carving a totem pole with a chainsaw.

Monday, May 8

--Steven Reese of 40-12 Tenth St., Queens, NY and James Sostilio of 44 May St., Everett, MA were arrested for shoplifting. The two allegedly ordered lobsters from Star Market and attempted to leave without paying.

--Two juveniles reported they were robbed of a wallet at gunpoint near the intersection of Columbia and Washington Streets.

--A Martins Construction employee reported someone broke into a storage facility at 13 Bristol St. and stole blades, saws and a drill totaling $3,000.

Tuesday, May 9

--A man reported parts of his wife's watch were removed while she was being prepared for treatment at Mt. Auburn Hospital.

--A rest room was vandalized in the Biology Laboratories.

Thursday, May 11

--A homeless man, William Mitchell, was arrested for allegedly head-butting a Cambridge Police Department (CPD) officer. The officer had responded to a call that Mitchell was causing a disturbance at the shelter there.

--A resident of Rindge Street reported that a suspicious person had entered her home on two occasions. A bike lock was switched and a toilet seat was left up.

--A person reported that her book bag was shot by a paintball near Cabot House.

Saturday, May 13

--Someone reported being punched in the face after he attempted to sell a T-shirt to a man on Cambridge Street near Newtowne Court.

--HUPD officers responded to a noise complaint outside a semi-secret Sorrento Square social organization that used to occasionally publish a so-called humor magazine at 5:49 p.m.

--A mixture of nitric acid and alcohol was spilled in a sink at a Harvard Medical School building, causing a cloud to form in the room. The building was evacuated and an outside contractor was called in to clean the spill.
