Police Log

March 5:

8:52 a.m.--A morning patrol by the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) noticed that all the stakes in the Yard were uprooted and strewn around. University engineers were notified.

9 p.m.--A caller reported two suspicious people had entered the Peabody Terrace garage. Police located the two men and issued a trespass warning.

March 6:

11:21 a.m.--A caller near Holyoke Center reported overhearing yells of "Get a cop!" and "Get out of my car!" A thorough search of the area yielded nothing.

3:30 p.m.--The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) assisted in the arrest of Ronald Green of Cambridge. Police charged Green with assault and battery with a deadly weapon: a clothes rack.

March 7:

12:37 a.m.--Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in Lowell House. The individual was located and identified as a student's friend.

1:28 p.m.--A caller reported discovering a suspicious person digging through personal belongings in Longfellow Hall. When confronted, the man fled. The caller described the man as a white male, 5' 6" tall, stocky build, with short brown hair, a blue windbreaker, white shirt and brown pants.

6:59 p.m.--HUPD assisted with a car accident on Quincy Street.

4 p.m.--CPD arrested two juveniles for shoplifting at HMV Records on Brattle Street. One youth was also charged with assault and battery and resisting arrest.

March 8:

4:49 p.m.--Police searched for three males who exposed themselves and yelled obscenities, near the Loeb Drama Center. One male was described as heavy-set, 17 years of age, with a gray puffy jacket, and knit blue hat; another was described as 17 years old, with a thin build, a thin pale face, dark haired, wearing olive drab jacket and baggy pants.

March 9:

CPD arrested Troy Howell of Boston for attempting to steal six bottles of Abercrombie and Fitch cologne.

1:24 a.m.--HUPD arrested Felipe Hernandez, 33, of Cambridge, on outstanding warrants after a field interview near the Science Center. Police also charged him with trespassing.

9:04 a.m.--A caller reported seeing a man walking near Johnston Gate with the outline of a handgun in his pocket. A thorough search of the area by multiple HUPD units could not locate the individual, who was described as a 5' 9" black male, wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt and a blue jacket.

12 p.m.--Police removed two panhandlers from in front of the Hasty Pudding Club.

5:44 p.m.--Police searched for a suspicious person in Divinity Hall. After locating him, they discovered he was a contractor.

March 11:

The Cambridge Fire Department (CFD) responded to yet another fire report at the "funny building across from Adams House." When they discovered no fire yet again, CFD officials knocked on the door and yelled at members of the Harvard Lampoon, a semi-secret Sorrento Square social organization that used to occasionally publish a so-called humor magazine. Fire officials noted that, once again, they could not locate any humor in the building.
