Police Log

Dec. 3:

1:39 a.m.--The Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) received a report of suspicious activity near Johnston Gate in the Yard. Officers spoke with the individuals involved and dispersed them.

Dec. 5:

1:26 a.m.--Officers responded to a verbal altercation outside Wigglesworth Hall. They spoke with the individuals and escorted both of them to the Broadway Garage.

6:45 a.m.--A student reported an attempted breaking and entering at 10 DeWolfe St. A heavyset 40-year-old man wearing a black wool cap and a brown winter jacket tried unsuccessfully to jimmie her door open.

6:50 a.m.--HUPD units spoke with an individual matching the above description at 219 Western Ave. The man turned out to be uninvolved.

10:39 p.m.--HUPD assisted with a dispute between staff and a guest at the Harvard Square Hotel.

Dec. 6:

10:19 a.m.--HUPD stopped a suspicious male at the Kennedy School of Government. After discovering he had previously received a trespass warning for Harvard property, he was arrested for trespassing.

6:26 p.m.--An officer was dispatched to the Yard on a report of a protest passing through. The officer discovered that it wasn't a protest but a large group of students.

2:03 p.m.--An individual at 22 Prescott St. reported that a group of youths had repeatedly tried to climb up on a nearby dumpster to peer in her window.

5:38 p.m.--A caller from Austin Hall at the Law School reported that protesters were present in the middle of a speech. The caller requested an officer in case the situation escalated.
