Oct. 20:

12 a.m.--A caller reported that her roommate in Thayer Hall had spilled boiling water on herself. A Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officer transported both students to University Health Services.

2:39 a.m.--HUPD responded to a report of someone crawling in a window at Mather House. The officers determined the individual was a resident of the House.

11:55 a.m.--HUPD stopped a group of suspicious-looking men outside Claverly Hall. Officers sent the men on their way after a warrant check proved negative.

Oct. 21:

1:38 a.m.--A guard reported two men breaking into vending machines at the Law School. HUPD arrested John McCauley, 36, of Manchester, N.H. and Keith Morley, 29, of Dorchester on a variety of felony charges.

3:50 a.m.--A caller reported a despondent and intoxicated man outside the Kresge Dining Hall at Harvard Business School. An officer could not locate the individual.

7:26 a.m.--A caller reported that a flag had been stolen off the Widener Library crane.

1:18 p.m.--Officers responded to a call from CitySports, where a manager had reported that a man had tried to steal sneakers.

Oct. 22:

2:51 a.m.--An Adams House resident reported a group of men outside the building who were about to fight. Officers dispersed the group without incident.

7:40 p.m.--A caller reported a brick had been thrown through a window at 60 JFK St. HUPD dispatchers notified the detective on-call.

Oct. 23:

1:15 a.m.--A HUPD officer reported a possibly intoxicated driver on the Western Avenue bridge. The Massachusetts State Police responded and took over the scene.

2:21 a.m.--Multiple callers reported a man screaming in the Leverett Tower courtyard. When an officer interviewed the man, he replied that he was screaming because he had had a "bad day."

1:17 p.m.--HUPD officers assisted the Cambridge Police Department and the Brookline Police Department after a high-speed chase ended near the Malkin Athletic Center.

7:08 p.m.--A caller from the Hemenway gym reported that $250 was stolen from his locker.

Oct. 26:

2:24 a.m.--HUPD searched near the Weeks Footbridge after a caller reported people jumping into the water. A search of both sides of the river failed to locate anyone.

3:11 p.m.--A caller reported a smoking trash barrel at the corner of Kirkland and Oxford Streets. HUPD responded and confirmed that the trash can was smoldering and successfully extinguished the fire.
