Jan. 19

A store reported to the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) that at 10:10 p.m. an unknown white male entered the store, bought a slice of pizza and then began yelling and swearing. The man was asked to stop but became more agitated and knocked a store employee to the ground.

A Cambridge resident reported to the CPD that while her son was at Magazine Street and Chalk Street at 6:30 p.m., his friend threw a snowball that struck a passing motor vehicle. The vehicle's driver then got out and, swearing, grabbed and pushed the woman's son. The mother came to her son's defense, and a verbal altercation with the driver ensued. The driver threatened her before leaving.

Jan. 20

CPD was called when a Marcella Street resident and a Cambridge Street resident were involved in an altercation. The two were assaulting each other with bats, forks and a lamp--all over the collection of a loan. Both were taken to Cambridge City Hospital for treatment.

A Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) unit was approached at 3:14 p.m. with a report of an individual walking around Holyoke Center smoking drugs. HUPD units checked the area for a homeless person wearing a red jacket. The suspect was gone on arrival.

A caller reported to HUPD at 1:37 p.m. that a black male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, was seen wandering around William James Hall talking incoherently and smelling of an unusual odor. The man was reported wearing a blue coat with the word "parking" on it. HUPD units were dispatched to check the area. The suspect was later located on Oxford Street. He was driven to the bus stop.

Jan. 25

HUPD officers responded early in the morning to a report of an unknown male banging on a door in 10 DeWolfe Street. Officers found that the student was intoxicated. After checking the well-being of his female companion, she was escorted to a friend's room. The disturber of the peace was found to be a student and sent home.
