September 19

The Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) received a report at 3:17 a.m. by a woman said she had been attacked outside the Harvard Yard gate near Strauss Hall. She said she ran away from her attacker, who police believe to be a homeless man.

September 20

While waiting to cross the intersection of Mt. Auburn Street and JFK Street at 7 p.m., a Weston resident stepped off the curb and a white paneled truck drove close to him and knocked him to the ground. Upon questioning by the Cambridge Police Department (CPD), the driver accused the victim of breaking the mirror on his car.

A resident of Cambridge said a motorist revved her engine and then bumped into him while he was in the crosswalk in front of the Central Square Post Office. The motorist then revved her engine again and fled, blowing the car horn.

September 22

An Illinois resident staying at the Charles Hotel reported that an unknown person turned down his bed and moved his pants while he was out for the day. Missing from the room was $1,000 cash, credit cards and personal papers.

A Cambridge resident reported to CPD that at 5:15 p.m. she was approached by a person who became verbally abusive and then proceeded to assault her with an umbrella.

A Peabody resident was arrested at 1:47 a.m. at the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Pearl Street. He had an argument with a woman during which she said he grabbed her by the throat and pushed her down onto the bed, causing her to have difficulty breathing.
