POLICE LOG

August 7

At 4:26 p.m. Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) received a call from someone reporting that a suite in Longfellow Hall had been broken into and ransacked. Upon arrival the Officer requested a Detective.

At 2:41 p.m. a caller stated to HUPD that he heard the sound of glass breaking at the Widener Library construction site and several males entered it. Units were dispatched. Two individuals were field interviewed and issued trespass warnings.

August 8

At 6:45 p.m. a Washington St. resident reported to Cambridge Police Department (CPD) that while her son was at the Berkshire St. pool he was choked while under water by a thirteen year-old male. The victim stated this is an ongoing problem with the suspect about money. In an earlier incident, the suspect approached the victim and told him "If you give me money, I leave you alone." The suspect had asked the victim for money three times in the last week.

A passer-by reported to HUPD that someone was trying to gain access to the dorm by Canaday Hall. He was described as a white male, 6' tall wearing a blue shirt and brown pants.

August 9

At 8:45 p.m. a Dorchester resident reported to CPD that at 8:30 p.m., while sitting on a bench at 1414 Mass. Ave., she was approached by a male who offered her an alcoholic beverage. The suspect began talking, then grabbed her. The victim began yelling at the suspect and summoned her friends to help her. A search of the area found no results.

August 10

A Cambridge resident reported to CPD that while walking his dog at Russel Field at 9:45 p.m. he was approached by two males who said, "Why are you trying to take my boy's job?" The suspects then surrounded the victim and slashed him with a 7-8" knife. Both suspects then threatened the victim and he released his dog, which bit the second suspect. The victim was wearing a brace that protected him from any injury.

August 12

A Cambridge resident reported to CPD that unknown persons smashed the windshield on her motor vehicle while parked on Arrow St.
