POLICE LOG

June 25

A man reported to the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) he was nearly struck by a male driver while he was crossing the street in the crosswalk. When approached, the driver grabbed the pedestrian's arm and said, "I'm a police officer...You're under arrest!" The pedestrian demanded a badge from the suspect, but he left the scene without comment.

June 29

A Lynn resident reported to CPD that he was assaulted by a Cambridge resident. The suspect was stopped and a metal tube was found on his person. The Cambridge man said he had waved the tube at the complainant because the complainant bothers him on a daily basis.

July 1

A resident of Jackson Circle reported to CPD that a male resident of Walden Mews and another male jumped him and beat him up. The Walden Mews resident reported that he and the victim agreed to one-on-one fight, which the Jackson Circle resident had lost.

July 4

At 12:20 a.m. HUPD responded to an altercation at the Harvard Square Kiosk between two males. After speaking with the participants, the officer dispatched to the scene described the incident as an attempted assault with a chain. The victim did not wish to pursue a criminal complaint and the parties were sent on their way.

July 6

At 10:40 a.m., HUPD was told that skeletal remains had been discovered at an excavation project inside the Holden Chapel. The office of the chief medical examiner determined them to be over 100 years old. The site is being held for Harvard Archaeologists to remove them.

At 1:54 p.m. at the Owl Club on Mill St. HUPD received a complaint that nude sunbathers on the roof were throwing cans onto the street. Units were dispatched, and did not find any nude sunbathers. Club members told police that the cans blew off the building because of wind.
