A resident of Magazine Street reported to the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) that while she was in the shower and her roommate was in their rear bedroom, an unknown person cut the screen on the window of the front bedroom. A mountain bike, credit cards, CDs and a radio were all taken.
July 24
At 2:54 a.m., the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) reported to Harkness Commons to assist CPD after a 911 hang-up. Upon arrival, officers discovered two summer school students attempting to steal beer.
July 26
CPD received a call from the Cambridge Trust Bank at 1720 Mass. Ave. that a white male in his late 40's entered the bank and showed the teller a note asking for money. The teller complied, though no weapon was shown. The suspect then fled the area towards Porter Square.
An employee of the Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School reported to CPD that over the weekend, unknown persons gained entrance to the school through the two basement doors. Several offices and classrooms were entered after breaking glass or forcing the inner doors. A full inventory will be taken, but at this time, nothing has been found missing.
July 27
At 9:34 am, a guard reported to HUPD that a group was demonstrating in the Yard. Officers responded and escorted the demonstrators out of the Yard. At 11:28, the protestors returned with a bullhorn. HUPD returned, gave the group a warning and sent them on their way. At 11:59, HUPD returned again and issued a trespass warning. Officers spoke to the Union representative and the group left.
July 28
A Somerville resident reported to CPD that sometime between 9:30 and 9:40 p.m., unknown persons scratched the body and slashed the tires of his car, which was parked at the corner of JFK and Brattle Streets. Two suspicious parties threatened to damage the car as a result of a dispute over a parking space.
At 2:14 p.m., HUPD responded to a report that a half-naked man was bathing in a men's room sink in Moors Hall. When officers arrived, the man was identified as an employee. No report was taken.
