The University will hold a memorial service for Professor of African History H. Leroy Vail this afternoon at 2 p.m. in Memorial Church.
Vail, who was born in Cambridge and was known as a leading scholar of African colonial history, died on March 27 after a long battle with lymphoma. He was 55.
A reception will follow the service.
