SUNDAY APR 25

LISTINGS

Ease your way into the day at Inman Square's Ryles Jazz Club's Jazz Brunch. Beginning at 10 a.m., the club offers "soft jazz and blues to go with your scrambled eggs." Not your typical Belgian waffle on a tray. No cover, but call 876-9330 for info or directions.

Head down to the FleetCenter for a 12:30 p.m. showdown between the Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards. Tickets available for as low as $10--even with an additional $1.70 in T fare, it's still cheap afternoon entertainment. Call Ticketmaster for advance tickets at 931-2000.

Hike over to the Middle East restaurant in Central to check out an afternoon show at 2 p.m. Upstairs High Society, Good Guy Mom and Force of Habit rock out, while local folkie Don White plays a benefit show for the Piano Dave Fund for the Homeless downstairs. 354-8238. $6 upstairs, $10 downstairs.

For a more highbrow Sunday afternoon cultural event, T down to Faneuil Hall (Government Center) at 3 p.m. to see the Boston Classical Orchestra, Program V. A collection of "Classic Firsts" by Mozart, Prokofiev and Beethoven, the concert will be conducted by Harry Ellis Dickson. Call the Boston Classical Orchestra ticket box at 423-3883 for details. Tickets range from $18-$35, but take advantage of a $5 student discount.

Stop by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts for another culturally enriching event. In between viewing exhibits on Egyptian Funerary artifacts, French photography and Mary Cassatt, catch the final Sunday "Mozart at the MFA" concert at 3 p.m. The MFA also has a gift shop and a restaurant. Call 267-9300 for exhibit and concert details. $20, $16 students.

Catch the last night of "Charlie's Angels in the Flaming Cave of the Tobacco Heiress" at the Dollhouse Theatre. The show is touted as a "musical adventure in stupidity" based on Aaron Spelling's jiggly '70s television series. Call 266-8511 for ticket details. 8 p.m. $15.

If the dining hall's Caribbean Brunch whetted your appetite for some Island Flava, finish off the day with a trip to Bill's Bar and Lounge on Landsdowne Street for Bob Marley Tribute Night. Music will take you back to Spring Break, sunny beaches and Rastafarian rhythms. 421-9678. $8 cover.
