POLICE LOG

March 8

The Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) received a report of malicious destruction at Harvard Medical School's Vanderbilt Hall in Roxbury. An officer was dispatched to investigate the situation.

At 7:32 p.m. HUPD reported to a call about a suspicious person outside of Mass. Hall. The suspect was described as a 55-year-old white male with long gray wavy hair wearing a light gray shirt and carrying a beeper. After asking where the financial office was, he attempted to enter the Mass. Hall residence. The man was gone when the two dispatched HUPD units arrived.

March 9

A suspicious person described as a bearded white male was seen outside the Science Center at 7:34 p.m. Wearing a large backpack, he was yelling loudly and acting crazy, according to the HUPD. He had left the area when units responded to the call.

Also on March 9, a woman reported being sexually assaulted in Byerly Hall at 8 Garden St. The suspect was described as a white male 35-40 years of age and of slim build with short hair. He reportedly was wearing a beige shirt and shoes and had an acne-scarred face.

March 10

At 9:18 p.m. an attempted suicide was reported at 124 Mount Auburn St to the HUPD. The case was referred to another agency by the HUPD.

March 11

At 12:00 a.m. the HUPD reported a disturbance at 8 Mount Auburn St. The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) had reported a drunk man in the lobby who was yelling obscenities.

Also on March 11, a larceny was reported in Sanders Theater at 9:09 p.m. The HUPD received a call reporting that a wallet that had been stolen. Other victims reported thefts as a result of an HUPD investigation. No arrests have been made.

March 13

At 2:24 a.m. a larceny occurred at the Science Center. The HUPD received a call saying that a laptop was stolen while its owner was in the building. The man chased the people who stole his laptop and was able to retrieve it. HUPD officers were not able to apprehend any suspects.
