Police Log

Dec. 6:

4:30 p.m.--A baby stroller was stolen from Widener Library. A baby was not in it at the time.

Dec. 7:

7:23 a.m.--A caller reported that a delivery truck on Plympton Street had knocked over a power pole. The electrical company was contacted. Power was restored later that day.

9:43 a.m.--Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) units responded to a call of a suspicious person at 104 Mt. Auburn St.

7:12 p.m.--HUPD dispatched police to an altercation at Au Bon Pain. The individual causing the disturbance had left upon the officers' arrival.

7:28 p.m.--A professor settled a minor altercation between two students in the Science Center. The incident was referred to the University administration, and no police action was taken.

Dec. 9:

2 a.m.--The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) arrested Kenneth Daly of West Dublin, Ireland on Mass. Ave. for assault and battery on a police officer.

12:41 p.m.--HUPD removed some skateboarders from the Kennedy School of Government.

1:33 p.m.--A 46-inch television in the common room of 2 Mt. Auburn St. was vandalized.

6:17 p.m.--HUPD dispatched units to investigate a report of two males in tuxedos blocking people from entering the Yard unless they had a Harvard ID. Police discovered that it was part of an initiation prank for a Harvard club. The two men were advised to move along.

11:55 p.m.--An employee of 878 Mass. Ave. reported that three skinheads had assaulted him. CPD was unable to locate the individuals.

Dec. 10:

3:46 p.m.--An HUPD unit was on hand when an employee at the Freshman Dean's Office was terminated.

5:01 p.m.--Two cars collided near Winthrop House. One of the vehicles spun onto the sidewalk bordering Quincy House. The injured motorists were transported to Mt. Auburn Hospital by the Cambridge Fire Department.

5:29 p.m.--A hysterical caller reported to HUPD that two males had robbed her at knifepoint on Parker Street in Roxbury. She said her pocketbook with cash and credit cards had been stolen. The Boston police were notified.

Dec. 11:

1:15 a.m.-- HUPD officers found a loud group of students outside the Leverett House Towers.

2:20 a.m.--An Adams House caller reported that a man was breaking a Cafe Pamplona window.

11:08 a.m.--Burnt food in Hollis Hall activated a fire alarm and knocked out power in much of the Yard.

Dec. 12:

1:26 a.m.--HUPD broke up a loud party on the third floor of Quincy House.
