While we oppose today's trends toward a discompassionate selfishness and irresponsible apathy, the staff incorrectly links this unfortunate phenomenon to conservative ideology. Conservatives, too, are borne of principle, though obviously this comes to light in different ways from those on the left.
This editorial demonstrates the staff's basic inability to consider and think through others' points of view and exemplifies a disturbing self-righteousness. Even if we disagree with conservatives, we cannot accuse them of causing today's unprincipled apathy.
