Support Available In Wake of Rape Charges

Letters

To the editors:

Many Harvard students are undoubtedly affected in some way by the news of last week's alleged rape and the arrest of another student on the charges. We encourage all concerned students to talk about whatever they are feeling, rather than bear it in silence.

There are a number of resources available on campus, and these are open to everyone. The Bureau of Study Counsel has a number of social workers and psychologists, reachable at 495-2581. UHS Mental Health is available at 495-2042.

In addition, Response is a confidential peer counseling hotline and is available to anyone wishing to speak with peers, or to anyone wanting anonymity. We are not here to judge, but to listen. We are open tonight and every night, Sunday through Friday, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. for calls, and from 8 p.m. to midnight for drop-ins.

Response is located in the basement of Lowell F-entry, and our number is 495-9600. We encourage anyone to call, be they concerned students, friends or survivors. THE RESPONSE STAFF   Feb. 3, 1998
