Abortion a Basic, Legal Choice

Letters

To the editors:

While I agree that students who find abortion morally objectionable should have the choice not to subsidize its cost, Daniel Choi's criticism of UHS's Sexuality Services policy is alarming UHS words its policy correctly: "If you become pregnant and wish to continue the pregnancy, you will be referred to the UHS Obstetrical Service." Abortion, no matter how offensive, remains one of the basic clinical practices of gynecological medicine. Unexpected complications in pregnancy raise the importance of abortion in ensuring the lowest possible mortality rates for birthing mothers. CHANTALLE LAFONTANT '99   Oct. 30, 1998
