For the third time in four years, Harvard University has been selected to host the NCAA Region 1 Championships.
The matches, which will take place next weekend May 9-11 at the Beren Tennis Center, feature a first-round match-up between EITA co-champs Harvard and Dartmouth. The Crimson holds the third seed, while the Big Green is ranked sixth.
Also on Friday, fourth-seeded Virginia Tech wil face fifth-ranked Penn State in the preliminary round. The winner of that match will face top-seeded South Alabama, while Miami awaits the Harvard/Dartmouth winner. The Championship will be held Sunday at 1 p.m.
Last season, the Crimson won the regional tournament and advanced to the round of 16.
This year marks the 13th NCAA Tournament appearance during the 21-year tenure of head coach Dave Fish '72. Harvard has qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the last eight seasons.
Daily admission, which includes a free souvenir program, is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
