ATHLETE of the WEEK

ED MOSLEY

While the Harvard men's hockey team was winning its series in one part of northern New York this past weekend, the Harvard wrestling team was putting together one of its best performances ever in another section of N.Y.

Powered by a first-place finish in the 158-pound division by freshman Ed Mosley, the Crimson finished seventh in the EIWA championships in Syracuse, its top finish since 1938.

Mosley became the first Harvard freshman ever to take the top spot at the EIWA. Mosley's 4-3 victory over Mike Kwapniewski from Rutgers made him the seventh Crimson wrestler to win the title.

Mosley's performance earned him an invitation to the NCAA wrestling championships on March 21-23 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Also going to the NCAAs are sophomores Dustin DeNunzio in the 126-pound division and Joel Friedman at 134 pounds.
