BELLIZZI LEADS CRIMSON SKING AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS; MATMEN EARN IVY HONORS

Junior Nordic skier Matt Bellizzi, Harvard's lone representative at the NCAA Skiing Championships--held March 8-11 at Jackson, New Hampshire--placed 27th in the 10K Freestyle event and 34th in the 20K Classic race. The performances earned the Crimson 33 team points and a 17th-place finish overall.

The University of Colorado took top team honors with 720.5 points. The University of Vermont, which placed third overall, was the top finisher among the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association (EISA) teams that competed.

Matmen Win Awards

Freshman Dustin DeNunzio, who complied a 29-10 record overall and a 3-1 Ivy mark, won the Ivy League Rookie of the Year Award and was named to the second team All-Ivy squad. DeNunzio finished sixth at the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Championships.

Also receiving Ivy Honors was junior Steve Gerstung. Gerstung, wrestling in the 158-pound division, earned All-Ivy honorable mention by virtue of his 3-1 Ivy mark and his 16-14 record overall.
