The awards never seem to stop coming in for Emily Stauffer of the Harvard women's soccer team, and she's only a sophomore.

The standout midfielder became the first Crimson women's soccer player ever to be named First Team All-American earlier this week, as she was singled out along with 11 other players for the nation's top honor. Stauffer was one of three midfielders honored.

Stauffer was the Ivy League's leading scorer in 1995, banging home 13 goals and assisting on nine others for 35 points. Her stellar season had already earned her Ivy League Player of the Year and First Team All-New-England honors.

If you had to single out one game in which Stauffer excelled the most, it would have to be her performance against Princeton in the home finale on October 22. Stauffer scored three goals and assisted on two others in only 50 minutes of play during a 7-0 rout of the Tigers.

Stauffer also set up Harvard's Ivy League winning goal against Brown, by first drawing a free kick and then passing the ball to co-captain Sara Noonan, who registered the goal. Harvard (14-2-1, 6-0-1 Ivy) won its first Ivy League crown since 1981.

Stauffer led the Crimson in scoring as well last year en route to picking up the Ivy League Rookie of the Year award.
