There was an apparent assault on Mt. Auburn St. early this morning. Four youths said they were attacked for no reason by people who jumped out of a car.
One of the victims had a swollen temple and another had a bloody face.
The victims told Cambridge police that they were attacked with pipes and wrenches. The attack is reminiscent of a recent Friday night shooting that also started when people suddenly emerged from a car in the Square.
A person was also stabbed yesterday amidst a fight between about 40 city high school students, according to a Cambridge Police statement.
Two suspects were arrested and both were charged with assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The suspects were a male juvenile from Cambridge and Michael Kedersen of Newtown Court in Cambridge, police said. They were stopped after a brief foot chase.
The victim was treated at Cambridge Hospital for knife wounds to the side and shoulder and was released late yesterday afternoon.
