Stickwomen Invited To ECAC Tourney

The Harvard field hockey team received some good news Monday in the form of a bid to the East Coast Athletic conference tournament to be hosted this weekend by top-seeded Lafayette.

The Crimson, seeded second, will get a chance to avenge one of its four defeats when it plays third seed Springfield Saturday. The winner matches up against the winner of Saturday's Lafayette-Penn contest in Sunday's championship game.

"I think we can beat [Springfield]," van Dykum said. "But everyone's focusing on Brown. For now, the Ivies are the most important thing."

Currently seeded sixth in its region, the Crimson would keep its faint hopes for an NCAA bid alive with an ECAC championship.
