The Harvard men's volleyball team is starting to peak at the right time.
Playing without starting middle blocker Brian Ehrlich, the Crimson (4-6) swept Yale in three sets, 15-12, 15-12, 15-3, last night at the Malkin Athletic Center. It was Harvard's second win in a row. Monday at the MAC, the Crimson defeated Dartmouth, 15-9, 15-6, 15-13.
"We are a resurging team," David Stonehill said. "There's a great improvement in the team's attitude since the beginning of the season."
Led by the play of Martin Valasek and John Nickerson, Harvard played a tight defensive game. And came back when it had to. In the second set, Harvard led, 12-7, but the Elis roared back to tie the game. The Crimson pulled away with the final three points of the game.
The two wins will help Harvard's chances this weekend when it travels to Princeton to play in the Ivy League Tournament. The Elis and the Big Green are two of the league's top four seeds.
