The Cornell hockey team did not score a goal against Clarkson in the second game of an ECAC quarterfinal series Saturday night Potsdam, N.Y.
The Big Red (16-11-1) are advancing to the ECAC semifinals this Friday at Boston Garden.
Sparked by goalie Corrie D'Alessio's 29 saves, the Big Red tied the Golden Knights, 0-0, to capture the two-game quarterfinal playoff series. Cornell defeated Clarkson, 5-3, Friday in the first game of the series.
The Big Red will face St. Lawrence (27-5) at the Garden. The Saints advanced to the semifinals by trouncing Yale, 9-2, Saturday in Canton, N.Y.
SLU's Andy pritchard collected two goals and Dave Murray scored a goal and dished out four assists to complete the series sweep for the defending ECAC champions.
In Hamilton, N.Y., Colgate's Starr Rink felt more like Vermont's Gutterson Fieldhouse as the Catamounts (19-12-1) defeated the Red Raiders, 8-4, to earn their second consecutive trip to the Garden.
Vermont, which will face Harvard this Friday, was led by Ian Boyce and Jim Walsh, who each scored two goals.
