The Harvard rugby club is as ready as it will ever be for next weekend's Northeast Regional Championships in Worcester.

The Crimson played McGill yesterday at Smith Field and defeated the visitors from Canada, 17-6. In the "B" game, Harvard trounced McGill, 42-4.

Sophomore Soren Oberg led the Crimson with two trys, while Co-Captain Scott Hilinki added one try. Chris Crisera added a penalty kick.

McGill took an early 6-0 lead in the first half by converting two penalty kicks.

"They had the wind and kept us back," Harvard Co-Captain Jon Greenburg said.

But the Crimson put it together in the second half, scoring 17 unaswered points.

"We started off with a penalty kick, and they sort of collapsed," Greenburg said.

With the regular season now over, the Crimson will set its sights on capturing the Northeast title. Harvard will play Army in the first round. The Crimson must capture the championship in order to advance to the Eastern Final Four, held December 2 in Orlando, Fla.
