NEW HAVEN, Conn.--Ed Perks' 28-yd. field goal with 10 seconds left lifted Yale to a 23-22 victory over Penn here Saturday.

Early in the fourth quarter, Penn quarterback Malcolm Glover scrambled 18 yards into the end zone to give the Quakers (4-2 overall, 2-1 Ivy) a 19-13 lead. The extra point failed.

That missed kick seemed to have come back to haunt Penn when Yale's Rich Caravella recovered a Chris Kouri fumble in the end zone. The conversion kick made it 20-19 for Yale (6-1,4-0).

But Rich Friedenberg kicked a 30-yd. field goal with 4:52 left to give the Quakers a 22-20 lead.

Perks' game-winning field goal came after a 55-yd. drive powered by Kevin Callahan, who had 87 yards rushing in the game.
