Once again, it's a big weekend in Harvard sports. Here's a look at what to look for today.
Men's lacrosse vs. Princeton, 1 p.m., Ohiri Field: The Crimson laxmen fell to Brown, 9-6, last Wednesday and now face a tough road to an Ivy League championship. However, the laxmen are one of the country's better teams--before the Brown debacle, they were ranked number nine in the nation--and always put on a good show. Look for David Kramer (formerly of the Harvard soccer team) and Michael Bergmann (one of the U.S.A.'s better goalies) to shine.
Women's tennis vs. Yale, 12 p.m., Palmer Dixon Courts: The netwomen (ranked 25th nationally and number one in the East) may be Harvard's best spring team. They've got Kristin Bland and Cyndy Austrian and an assortment of other power hitters. Yale looks to be a formidable hurdle on the road to an Ivy championship, but the Crimson is lookin' to cook the Elis and get set for undefeated Dartmouth in the middle of the week.
Men's crew vs. Northeastern, 8 a.m., Charles River: Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream. No one does it better than Harvard. Coach Harry Parker has his team as fit as an oar.
Baseball vs. Navy, 12 p.m., Soldiers Field: The batsmen's bats are booming. This is a twin bill and could be double trouble for Navy, in first place in the EIBL. The baseball team will also play Penn in a twin bill tomorrow. Some bat time, same bat place.
Softball vs. Maine (11 a.m.) and Brooklyn College (4 p.m.), Soldier Field: The batswomen's bats sometimes boom and sometimes go bust. Look for them to clean up against these squads. Also, see softball's equivalent of Roger Clemens, Harvard's Lora Rowning.
