With only two Ivy League games scheduled last weekend, there was not much movement in the Ivy League standings. Penn (8-0 overall, 5-0 Ivy) remains on top, although Cornell (5-2-1, 4-1) was able to move to within a game of the leaders with its 26-0 victory over Yale.

The Elis were eliminated from the race, leaving only Penn, Cornell and Princeton with a shot at grabbing at least a share of the Ivy title.

Cornell 26, Yale 0

Scott Malaga ran for 122 yards and a touchdown, and Aaron Sumida threw for two more to lead Cornell to a 26-0 victory over Yale yesterday in Ithaca, N.Y.

The Big Red held the Elis to 47 yards on the ground and 100 overall.

After a scoreless first quarter, Cornell junior Andy Bednar booted a 45-yd. field goal. On Yale's next possession, punter Todd Cowan fumbled the snap from center. The ball squirted through the end zone for a safety, giving Cornell a 5-0 advantage.

Dartmouth 20, Columbia 10

Brendan Mahoney's 67-yd. punt return proved to be the winning touchdown as Dartmouth beat Columbia, 20-10, in Hanover, N.H.

Columbia has not won at Dartmouth since 1946. The Lions have lost four straight since breaking their record 44-game losing streak with a victory over Princeton October 8.

The Big Green jumped ahead on their first possession when Dave Clark capped a 60-yd. drive with a 2-yd. touchdown run. Carl Romero's 21-yd. field goal gave Dartmouth a 10-0 halftime lead.

Princeton 45, Colgate 13

Quarterback Jason Garrett scored on a 2-yd. run, threw two touchdown passes and had a 61-yd. scramble to set up one of Chris Lutz's three field goals. Princeton scored on seven straight possessions and defeated visiting Colgate, 45-13.

Garrett completed 23 of 29 passes for 263 yards.

Penn 31, Lafayette 17

Mike Waller raced 30 yards for a tie-breaking touchdown, and Bryan Keys rushed for 125 yards to help Penn stay undefeated with a 31-17 victory over Lafayette in Easton, Penn.

Waller also scored from two yards out en route to 88 yards on 12 carries.
