The Harvard women's cross country team captured fourth, and the men's team finished tied with Cornell for sixth place in yesterday's Heptagonal meet at Van Cortlandt Park in New York.

The dynasties continued as Yale took the women's title for the third straight year with 39 points, and Dartmouth claimed its fifth consecutive men's crown with 26 points.

Harvard's Suzanne Jones finished with a time of 17:45.5 to earn seventh place and a spot on the second-team All-Ivy squad. Yale's Sarah Smith won the rainy race in 17:26.9.

In team totals, the Elis were followed by Dartmouth (67 points), Princeton (77), Harvard (94), Navy (160), Cornell (150), Army (201), Brown (231), Penn (235) and Columbia (274) in the women's race.

For the men, Brown's Greg Whitley led the Bruins to a second place finish (75 points) with his 24:50.6 winning time. Army took third (98), followed by Penn (114), Navy (134), Harvard and Cornell (tie, 174), Princeton (202), Columbia (209) and Yale (227).

The Crimson's top finisher was senior Brian Cann, who placed 16th (25:40.8).
