Women's Rugby

The Radcliffe rugby football club was shutout for the third consecutive time in as many starts this season by Boston College, 16-0, yesterday at Soldiers Field.

The Black and White opened the spring season over the weekend by being blanked twice in the Bridgewater State Invitational Tournament.

"We just don't have the experience in our backline and the backs do most of the scoring," senior scrum-half Jenny Thomas said. "Our new players are playing with great enthusiasm, but they are just inexperienced."

BC had little trouble in controlling the Black and White. BC tallied eight points in each half to avenge a 4-0 shut out Radcliffe pinned on BC a year ago.

Fullback Jane Murphy, who had an impressive weekend, continued where she had left off.

"Jane Murphy played a great game at fullback," Thomas said. "She really gave everything she had. She played just a great game."
