A brick was thrown through a window of the Room 13 offices in Stoughton Hall yesterday morning at approximately 1:30 a.m., according to officials at Harvard University Police.
Someone, or a group of people, came to the basement offices of the peer counseling group late last night and banged on the outer door without identifying themselves, said a police spokesman.
Counselors on duty called the police and by the time they arrived, the perpetrators had broken the window with a brick, police said. So far there are no suspects in the case.
The window was fixed today.
Eunu Chun '87, co-director of Room 13, stated yesterday that the group would not say anything about the incident because they were worried about the effects of making the incident public.
"We're concerned that people will not come in for help because they are worried about confidentiality and safety," he said. "This is not a big deal and people should not worry about the incident," Chun said.
Chun stated they were worried that publicizing might induce more attacks. He emphasized the safety of the offices, saying that no one can enter Room 13, "unless they could break down three very large doors."
One of the staff members of Room 13 who did not witness the incident said that it would not deter him from continuing his work there and it "sounded like somebody was just being obnoxious."
