Priests' Killers Caught

BUFFALO, N.Y.--Two teen-agers have been arrested in the killings of two inner-city Roman Catholic priests, authorities said today. One of the young men confessed, said Police Commissioner Ralph V. Degenhart.

Milton E. Jones, 17, was arrested late Sunday in Buffalo, and Theodore Simmons, 18, also of Buffalo, was arrested early today in San Diego, Calif., the commissioner said.

After his arrest, Jones "provided the homicide bureau with a confession to both priest murders," Degenhart said. He said Simmons was located through information obtained from his family.

Chief of Detectives Angelo P. Alessandra said detectives learned that Simmons had been counseled by both priests, who were killed 12 days apart.

Richard T. Donovan, chief of the homicide bureau, said robbery was the motive in both killings, but he declined to say how much money was taken.
