W. Rugby Tips Bulldogs, 6-0

It was a cold day in New Haven Saturday, but the Harvard women's rugby team was hot enough to defeat Yale, 6-0.

Though the Crimson's 5-4 overall record may not look impressive, the ruggers weren't discouraged.

"It was a pretty good season," said four-year veteran Heather Flewelling. "We finally capitalized on some of our talent."

Fullback Flewelling scored two points on a conversion kick after teammate Eliza Schwarz started the Crimson scoring with a four point try.

The six points were all either team could manage in the below-20 degree weather.

"I am really happy we played a solid game, though it wasn't our best," said senior Gillian Caldwell. "There was sloppy passing on both teams.

The ruggers look forward to a better spring season. "It was good to end the season on this note," Caldwell said. "We are starting to get more of a base and reestablish ourself."
