Goring Gone
Butch Goring, head coach of the Boston Bruins, was fired late Wednesday night.
"Goring has been dismissed and we have no further comment at this time as to who will be his replacement," said Nate Greenberg, a team spokesman for the NHL club.
Greenberg said Goring received notice from General Manager Harry Sinden immediately after the Bruins lost 8-3 to the Buffalo Sabres.
Goring was in his second year with the team. He had never coached an NHL team before.
"This is a business," Goring said. "This isn't a game anymore. We all have to act like business people. If you don't do well, business people get fired, be it me or the players themselves."
